Chef Amy von Eiff is the Owner and Executive Chef at A Cut Above Catering | Classes | Events, serving the greater Indianapolis, IN metropolitan area. Chef Amy has an extensive culinary background, specializing in International as well as Southern Cuisine, with formal training at Ivy Tech and studies abroad throughout Italy. Chef Amy’s culinary expertise coupled with her extensive event-related experience and keen business acumen led her and her husband Dave to start A Cut Above in 2010, which has grown to prominence as one of the top caterers in Indiana, with expanded services into event planning, culinary education and facility rental. Chef Amy’s success as a Women-Business-Enterprise (WBE) serves as a role model to many aspiring entrepreneurs. Chef Amy is recognizable from her frequent TV spots on WISH-TV's "Indy Style" where she demos her latest recipes and "chef tips" and appears as a regular guest on Fox 59 with Sherman. In their role of official caterer for the Center for the Performing Arts and the Palladium in Carmel, IN, A Cut Above and Chef Amy have been deemed as “Chef to the Stars”. Chef Amy was the first place winner in a cooking contest sponsored by allrecipes.com and Reader’s Digest and she also publishes food reviews and serves as a content expert for Carmel Magazine and several other local media resources. Chef Amy’s culinary passion came from watching her grandmother and mother in the kitchen before she was even tall enough to reach the kitchen counter. Chef Amy is passionate about passing on her knowledge, commenting “I thrive on teaching others how to harness their inner abilities”, evidenced by her leadership roles in several local community service boards. However, she considers her most important (and most cherished) role to be that of Mom to her two children!
