Talia Rogers, Events Manager, University of Florida, College of Journalism & Communications
Talia, whose niche centers on storytelling, event branding and logistics, has been a professional event manager and designer since 2010. With over 10 years of event and project management experience, she oversaw the administration of $8.9 million in federal grant funds, 58 centers and 20 different agencies; as well as event budgets nearing $500 thousand. In addition the her being a thought partner for executives at organizations such as Facebook and the Department of Defense Brasilia; Talia’s portfolio includes work with small to mid-size non-profits as well as large corporations such as Google.
Currently, she has the privilege of planning and executing signature and ancillary events for the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida; a top 10 public university. She interfaces directly with senior leadership to support strategic efforts that include donor cultivation and recognition, alumni engagement, media outreach, and the recognition of faculty, staff and college achievements.
When she’s not flexing her logistics and design muscles, she can be found with a student group or community of practice cultivating relationships and dishing about the ‘real’ of being an event professional. Some of her most important work is helping train the next generation of #eventprofs as an adjunct professor in the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management department in the College of Health and Human Performance at UF.
