Julia Conway, Founder/CEO, Assaggiare Mendocino, Inc
Julia Kendrick Conway holds a BSBA in Marketing from San Jose State University, and has studied at both the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley and in Tuscany. She has an extensive background in both the food industry and management, as well as founding Assaggiare Mendocino, Inc., a northern California catering and events company. Prior to founding Assaggiare Mendocino, Inc. she headed up sales and events for Delectables Events and Catering in Silicon Valley, the former caterer to the San Francisco 49er's. Julia spent 20 years as a sales executive in the tech industry before returning to food. As both a leader and member of Slow Food USA, she is a strong advocate of traditional and local food production, and is active in a variety of initiatives supporting California's food and wine economy. She was seated as the Public Member of the Mendocino Winegrape and Wine Commission Board of Directors from 2008-2011, and was Vice Chair of the Mendocino County Promotional Alliance in 2007. Julia graduated from Leadership Mendocino, and went on to serve on their Board of Directors, and was named chair in 2017 and 2018. Assaggiare Mendocino, founded in 1999, offers food and wine consulting services, event planning and catering in northern California's wine country and scenic north coast, and specializes in destination weddings.
