Dana Buchanan is co-founder of Primal Alchemy Catering & Events, a full-service catering firm specializing in Seasonal, Sustainable and Local cuisine. She is the co-producer of, “Cooking What Nature Provides,” a series of award-winning short documentaries on producing sustainable events. Primal Alchemy has enjoyed ‘Making Memories and Marking Milestones’ for corporate and social clients for 24 years. Primal Alchemy earned status as the first State Certified Green business in Long Beach, and as winners of the inaugural ‘ACE Award for Sustainability’ at the Special Events/Catersource Conference 2024.
Dana is considered a leader in sustainability and invited to speak on sustainable events and our food system nationwide. She has enjoyed working with corporate clients such as Los Angeles Olympics LA28, TED Conference, Blueprint, Billabong, United States Green Building Council, Nature Conversancy, New Zealand, Space X, and Relativity. She will host Primal Alchemy’s 15th Annual Long Beach Urban Farm Dinner this year, where 20 local chefs, that focus on farm to table, cook together to create an unprecedented culinary evening.
Dana is a fixture in the regenerative farm movement; supporting local, seasonal, and sustainable food systems, champions for putting scratch cooking back in schools, eliminating single use plastics and are advocates for doing what is needed to caretake our planet and making sure Primal Alchemy maintains the integrity of a true sustainable business.
