ABSTRACT: Using interactive, real-life examples, we will showcase how the Gamification creates a unique positive memorable immersive experience for guests that drives pre-event sales and on premise revenue. DETAILS: We will use the Toronto Cider Festival -Established 2015, as our case study. The Festival itself has prospered in 5 short years to become the largest cider festival in Canada. It is one of the largest cider focused events in North America. The Festival has close to tripled in size in five short years. In that time, the Toronto Cider Festival has won Festival on the Year in Ontario (Notable Best Festival Award) and it was nominated for Festival of the Year in Canada (Canadian Special Events Magazine). Over the course of 75 minutes we will explain the concept of Gamification as it pertains to the Events Industry and then we will dive into real examples from the event that showcase different mediums used to involve the audience including: 1. Pre-Event gamification to drive ticket sales 2. On-site Gamification to engage guests with event sponsors including: - Art Battle - Instagram Photo Contest - Evaluation Contest - Vendor Passport - Day of Contests - Flair Bartending Competition - People's Choice Award - Physical Evidence for the purpose of gamification 3. Utilizing videos, props, and technology partners, attendees will actually get to participate in the various engagement tools to drive home the learning. 4 The audience will work together on brainstorming ideas for their event concepts. 5 The session will conclude with a short question and answer period.
