In this session, we will apply storytelling, expectation management and immersive environment techniques from the "Happiest Place on Earth" to create meaningful, accessible, and sustainable event experiences. Drawing from shared experiences and observations of Walt Disney World, we'll cover five different critical areas which can be applied to any special event.
"Day One" explores design secrets for immersive guest environments. "Day Two" covers the management of guest expectations. "Day Three" applies classic storytelling to event programs. "Day Four" focuses on minimizing the impact of events on the environment. Finally, "Day Five" addresses safety and accessibility lessons learned through park exploration. We'll even cover the parallel implications of COVID-19 on the events and theme park industry, and how each can learn from the other during recovery.
This tour of the parks from an event planner's viewpoint will provide a road map for your own observations the next time you set sail with pirates, tour World Showcase, or walk down Main Street U.S.A. So put on a comfortable pair of shoes and enter a world of castles and queue lines that can inspire and inform everyday event planning and industry professionalism.
* This session is not presented by or affiliated with The Walt Disney Company. The presenter is an event planner (CSEP), and author whose book "Five Days with the Mouse to be a Better Event Planner" applies a deep study of Disney operations, Imagineering wizardry, and guest-relations best-practices to practical everyday events.
