To prepare candidates for earning the Certified Professional in Catering and Events (CPCE) designation, the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) offers a CPCE Fast Track course, available live at industry events and online. The CPCE Fast Track provides catering and event professionals with skills and knowledge they need to be successful now and in the future.
The CPCE Fast Track includes sessions on each of the industry’s eight core competencies: accounting, beverage management, catering services, contracts and agreements, event management, food production, human resources, and sales and marketing.
This Beverage Management session will explore different types of alcohol, including wine, spirits, beer, and legal considerations of serving alcohol. Glassware will also be discussed, along with bar equipment, set up and storage. Service standards are integral to an industry professional’s knowledge of beverage management, and therefore are included in this session. Beverage formulas will be taught, raising awareness of yields as well as pricing and costs.
