This session will be an interview format with two small business planning professionals. Having started in corporate events prior to shifting independent, both interviewees have 10+ years of experience leading teams, building strong relationships to help develop their businesses, and managing client expectations. As the moderator, Patrick will focus on questions devoted to understanding that professional development doesn't just happen through test taking, but the majority of skills are actually learned through taking advantage of common sense learnings and understanding how we function as human beings.
Leadership doesn't just come from the CEO or the CMO, many times leadership comes from being "in the weeds" at an event. It's taking the time to support one another for the overall best outcome for the client. It's using your relationships with your vendors to provide an exceptional experience. It's using your skills to calm a client during a crisis. These skills can be developed by being conscious of them day in and day out… building over the course of time.
In this session, all three panelists will ALSO be interviewers, taking turns to pose questions to one another as well as answer from their own perspectives. The three panelists have all worked together in different capacities in the past as well as run their own event businesses, adding a unique dynamic to the trio.
