In this workshop participants will learn how to keep up with the ever-changing food-allergy laws, regulations and training requirements pertaining to the food industry. According to FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) the current revenue lost from food-allergy families avoiding restaurants and caterers is estimated at $45 million per WEEK! Additionally, the global food market for those with food allergies is projected to exceed $24.8 billion by 2020. Is your operation able to accommodate this community or are you among the hundreds of thousands of caterers and restauranteurs losing billions of dollars in potential revenue due to a fear or inability to create safe food for the nearly 20 million Americans affected by this disability? (Yes, "disability"). Participants will gain insight through the perspective of the food-allergy community directly, and hear first-hand of their experiences eating at restaurants or using caterers, while learning valuable strategies and simple steps to take in order to create "safe" food. Participants will leave this workshop with a clear understanding of how to safely accommodate the people affected by this rapidly rising epidemic (without frustration) and profit from the billions of dollars in lost revenue up for grabs.
