Tom McDowell is the founder, President & CEO of Pavilion Catering, Inc. and Connecticut Wedding Group, which are located in his hometown of Middletown, CT. Tom graduated Xavier High School in Middletown, CT and then went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and a B.S. in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. Tom founded Pavilion Catering in 1984 and became the exclusive caterer at The Pavilion on Crystal Lake. Pavilion Catering/Connecticut Wedding Group took over the food & beverage operation at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in 1993 and became the exclusive caterer at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in 2006, transforming it into one of Connecticut’s premier non-traditional wedding venues. Tom is a member of the prestigious Leading Caterers of America, an organization comprised of most successful catering companies in the country.
You can usually find Tom on the weekends, sporting a "Head Groundskeeper" sweatshirt, flying under the radar as he oversees the entire operation. He is most passionate about bringing together extremely talented team members, mentoring them into an exceptional management team. Tom McDowell's aspirations have come true as he helps his team plan and produce Connecticut's most exciting weddings full of innovative designs and award-winning cuisine; and making wedding day dreams come true at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, The Pavilion on Crystal Lake, and Lyman Orchards Golf Club.
