  • Adam CaleroDirector of Event OperationsBlue Plate Catering, LTD

Adam Calero joined the Blue Plate Catering team in September of 2011 and brought his ten years of Off Premise Catering experience to restructuring and developing Blue Plate's Service Department which now includes over 300 service, culinary and leadership staff. Adam was promoted to Director of Event Operations, his current position, in April of 2016.
Adam continues to find pleasure in his current role as he thrives under pressure and is always eager to create solutions. He is tremendously proud of the team that he has worked to grow. Adam loves working in the field to execute large scale events and looks forward to organizing and leading food service for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon each October, where Blue Plate executes 17 simultaneous events, serving over 4,500 people.

Adam and Blue Plate have received several accolades and awards during his time at Blue Plate including:
2016 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, National Association for Business Resources
2015 Achievement in Catering Excellence (ACE), East Region, Catersource
2015 Best Catering Company, Illinois Meetings and Events
2015 Couples Choice Award, Wedding Wire

Prior to his time at Blue Plate, Adam discovered the joy of bringing order to chaos as an Event Supervisor at Berghoff Catering & Restaurant Group and the value of diverse food and service experiences as a Concierge at Corporate Concierge Services. Adam was born in Camden, South Carolina and briefly attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he found that while he had no talent for dead languages, he found pleasure and pride in his work as a server for an off-premise caterer.

Adam rides his bike to work every day, even in the winter. On his off days, he finds himself running on the lakefront or exploring the National Parks with his two children.
